Four months!

Nicolas turned four months old on December 10th (I am trying to get this post in before he turns 5 months!).  I can't believe how quickly time is flying by.  From day one, our pediatrician kept telling us that the 4 month mark is the best and that is her absolute favorite age.  I must admit she is right (why wouldn't she be?  she's been around kids for 20+ years).  Everyday with Nicolas literally gets better and better and just when I think he can't get any cuter, he proves me wrong!

Here are his 4 month stats:

Weight: 13 lbs 10 oz (30%)
Length: 25" (50%)
Head: 16 1/4" (25%)

So Nicolas isn't quite as big as we thought he would be, but he has developed a BIG personality :)

Our little man still doesn't really cry, he wakes us up by talking.  He just rolls around in his pac 'n play (YES, I still have him in our bedroom) and talks and talks and talks until one of us looks over at him.  He wakes up in such a good mood, as soon as he sees mommy or daddy he just looks up with a HUGE smile on this face.  No matter how tired we are, as soon as we see him smiling up at us we can't help but have a huge smile of our own.  Every morning I unzip his sleep sack to take him into his nursery to feed him and every morning I feel like I am opening up a present.  I get so excited to pick him up and give him a big hug and kiss his big cheeks.   I am by no means a morning person, but now that Nicolas is in the picture, I will admit my favorite part of the day is waking up to him!

Nicolas loves to talk and he has discovered how to use his hands!  He like to grab toys and he loves to scratch the side of his pac n play to hear the sound it makes.  He is quite the determined little man and when he is grabbing at a toy, if he can't pull it towards him he starts grunting and has the cutest little look of concentration on his tiny little face.

Everything, and I mean everything ends up in his mouth these days.  We have a thumb-sucker on our hands!  As much as I don't like the habit he has formed, I will admit he looks so darn cute doing it!  Even the ladies at daycare talk about how cute he looks sucking his little thumb.  His newest obsession is his toes!  Every time I change his diaper he immediately brings his little foot up to his mouth and sucks on his toes.  It makes for some very challenging diaper changes but again, I will admit it is super cute.  Only an adorable baby could get away with looking cute while sucking on his toes!

Nicolas truly is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am pretty comfortable in saying that Enrique feels the same way.  I love seeing the pride in Enrique's eyes every time he sees Nicolas and holds him, he really is such a good dad and husband.  I tell this to people all the time but if I were guaranteed the same pregnancy and same perfect baby....I'd get pregnant again right now.  I am truly the most happy I've ever been in my whole life.  Nothing in the world matters more to me than spending time with my baby boy (sorry to my friends and family who I've neglected over the past 4 months).

Here are a few pictures of the cutest baby in the world!
