Maternity Shoot

Well, I wasn't quite sure that I wanted to do a maternity shoot, but we did and I'm happy with the turnout. Here are our pictures!

33 weeks and already stubborn!

We went for our 33 week check up today.  This little baby is still breached and not cooperating with mommy and daddy's birthing plan!  We go back in two weeks and if we are still breached we will schedule a c-section for sometime in between 39-40 weeks.  I really don't want a c-section but of course we are going to do whatever it takes to get this baby out safely.

At 28 weeks we found out that the baby has hydronephrosis.  This sounds much worse (hopefully) than what it is.  The right kidney is dialted which means there is probalby some sort of blockage.  In some babies, this is something that is outgrown, in others it will require surgery.  Today the FMP told us that based on size, our baby has a "moderate" case.  We are grateful that it is not labelled as "severe" but needless to say Enrique and I have both been quite worried ever since finding this out.  The bottom line is we still have a healthy baby and are very blessed and thankful for the gift we have been given.  We are staying positive and know in our hearts that everything will be ok.  From now until delivery, we will be seeing the FMP every other week and our OB every week until Baby Rodriguez makes his or her big debut!

Happy Father's Day!

I can't believe that Enrique and I got to celebrate Father's Day this year with an entirely new meaning!  I took the daddy to be to dinner on Friday night and he got a new driver as a gift (which he has yet to swing yet).  This morning I woke up early and made him a Father's Day breakfast.....white chocolate apricot french toast with marscapone cheese, fried eggs, bacon and fruit.  It was quite a tasty breakfast if I must say so myself :)

Here is a picture of Enrique and I in our nursery Friday night after our tasty dinner at Del Frisco's

Enrique and a big puffy oversized version of me!

It's hard on a day like today to be 4 hours away from my family, I did call my dad this morning and wish him a Happy Father's Day.  In honor of the best dad in the world (and soon to be SUPER Grandpa!)

We do live in the same city as Enrique's family so we will see his dad later tonight for dinner.....

And in honor of both of our dads.....a fun picture of them dancing together at our wedding :)

My creative husband.....

As most of you know, I am currently in school getting my Master's in Healthcare Administration and Management.  Last night I was working on homework and what I at first declared "I will only do homework for two hours tonight" quickly turned into me sitting in front of my computer and book all night long.  Around 10:00 I guess Enrique decided I could use a laugh so I get the following text message:

"There's a bunch of monkeys in the bed"

With this picture attached

My sister, Cortney has decided that the nursery should be monkey themed and as one of the shower gifts (the card said this was from William, my adorable nephew) she got me the book "Five Little Monkeys" and a bunch of stuffed monkeys.  Enrique arranged them all in the crib and sent me this pic.  It was a great time for me to receive something that made me laugh as I had been studying for about 3 hours straight :(  Shortly after that I decided I was done for the night!

Giving this a try....

Well, I finally broke down and decided that I would give this whole blogging thing a whirl.  I'm not very creative and I am not good at keeping up with communication but I figured this might be the easiest way to give everybody updates on baby Rodriguez!

We are 31 weeks now and things are slowly coming together.  I had my first shower this weekend (will post some pics soon) and Enrique and I spent all day Sunday washing baby stuff!  I will admit that organization is not my forte so I am feeling extremely overwhelmed with getting the nursery put together!

Here is my first official blog picture of baby Rodriguez...this was taken at 18 weeks.
