Nicolas' birthday part 3...night of his birthday

We had such a big day on Nicolas' birthday that we decided to just hang out at home that night as a family.  After the aquarium and the excitement of meeting his new cousin Dominic, we all needed a little time to rest at home :)

We got Nicolas a little monkey rocker as one of his birthday gifts...he also got a basketball goal, although I suspect that was more of a gift for daddy than for Nicolas!!  Enrique's mom (mima) also found some super cute birthday pajamas and I couldn't wait to see Nicolas in them....here are some pictures from his birthday night.

Nicolas' birthday part 2....meeting cousin Dominic

As I've mentioned...Nicolas had a BIG weekend for his first birthday...not to mention a big year!  All before turning the ripe age of 1 Nicolas got to become a big cousin for the second time this year!  Back in June my sister gave Nicolas a little girl cousin (Kayla) and on August 9 just a day before Nicolas' big day,  Tia Martha (Enrique's sister) and Uncle Charles gave Nicolas a little boy cousin!  Dominic Ethan Philastre was born at 10:06 pm and weighed a tiny 6 lbs 9 ounces.

Since little Dominic decided to wait until well after Nicolas' bedtime to make his debut, Nicolas didn't get to "officially"  meet him until Friday after visiting the aquarium on his birthday.  Here are a few pictures of Nicolas meeting his little cousin....it sure will be neat to watch these two boys grow up together.  I can't imagine what kind of shenanigans these two will get into!

Nicolas' First Birthday...part 1 the Aquarium

A year has literally flown by in the blink of an eye!  Enrique and I love Nicolas so much and decided we would make it a tradition to take his birthday off from work and spend the day doing something fun with him.   For his first birthday we decided to take him to the Aquarium in Downtown Dallas and we had a great time! It was so neat to watch Nicolas discover all sorts of new things and get excited as he pointed to different fish, monkeys, and birds.  Although Nicolas had tons of fun, I suspect that Enrique and I probably enjoyed our time at the aquarium even more...it is truly amazing to watch Nicolas grow up and experience new things,  I can't even remember life before Nicolas and can't imagine it without him.  Nicolas is truly the best thing that we have ever done!
